 Jnana Prabodhini is a registered NGO under Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act.Jnana Prabodhini was established with a universal theme cutting across economic, social, religious or ideological differences to change the society. It resolves to bridge minds who wants to change things for better through its work in fields of Education, Research, Organization, Development, and Health. Some highlights into the philosophy of JP are as follows.

• Education

·      Leadership development among intellectually gifted boys and girls based on the philosophy of ‘Man-making and Nation Building Education’ as enunciated by Swami Vivekananda.

·       Experiments and validation of new technologies for enrichment of gifted students. Replication of a variety of  such educational experiments  in  different socio-economic environments in Maharashtra.

·       School as a centre of development catering to the educational, cultural, social, health and spiritual needs of the community around the school.

• Research

·      Identification and nurture of human abilities across different cross-sections of the society.

·      Development of training interventions to enhance potential of individuals covering wide age range.

·      Creating a Centre of Excellence for research in the fields of leadership, management and psychology, blending the best of Western and Indian traditions of psychology.

• Rural Development and Health

·      Holistic and integrated approach to the concept of Development. Unit of development is a river valley and not isolated villages/locality.

·      Sustainable development focusing on strengthening and building capacities in local groups to initiate development through their efforts along with creation of physical assets.

·      Development activities initiated by villagers and facilitated by outside interventions to include women and socially and economically backward sections as beneficiaries.

·       A medical center which can demonstrate a new model of relationship between doctors and patients.
